Michelle Hert started her career in Affordable Property Management as an Accountant in 1997 at a national affordable housing non-profit. Soon the complex mysteries of Compliance lured her away and in 1999, her focus moved to training, support, and HUD compliance. Through the years, the compliance focus has moved beyond HUD to include LIHTC, HOME, Shelter Plus Care, NSP, and PIH Project Based Rental Assistance. Michelle was the Compliance Manager for Community Properties of Ohio Management Services (CPOMS) from September 2007 through July 2016. In August 2016, she started Hert Consulting LLC to provide support to the Affordable Housing industry. Her expertise is wading through the requirements for mixed finance properties and helping define, in the simplest way possible, the correct path to meet all the compliance requirements. Her credentials include Housing Credit Certified Professional of Occupancy (HCCP), Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Assisted Housing Manager (AHM) and HOME Certified Specialist – Rental Housing Compliance.
